"This is the most Italian boot we've designed in years. When you wear it, everyone can see that it's a carefully crafted, beautifully made shoe. At the same time, it looks more casual than many of the other styles in our collection. The way the leather drapes, the washed-out finish, the rounded sole edge—everything just looks a bit more relaxed, freer, and less deliberated. The Italians call this: sprezzatura. There isn't really a good English translation. It means something like "effortless elegance." The art of controlled carelessness and taking something very seriously, but then acting as if it’s no big deal. I hope this is a decent explanation. As I'm saying this, I can already picture an Italian with that typical hand gesture, pinching fingers and thumb together, waving his hand up and down in a delightfully passive-aggressive manner. Anyway, whether you choose this boot or not, I sincerely wish you a little sprezzatura in life."
